Hardie secures the points

Martin Hardie scored the decisive second as Morton beat Airdrie 2-0 at Cappielow Park.

After a scrappy opening period, the hosts took the lead on the brink of half time when David O'Brien's fine cross found the head of David Graham, who beat Airdrie stopper Grant Adam from six yards out to give his side the advantage.

Morton extended their lead in the 83rd minute thanks to Hardie, who beat Adam from close range after getting on the end of Michael Tidser's cross to secure the points for the Ton.

Morton came close to adding a third in the closing stages when Anthony Wallace drilled a shot goalwards in the 90th minute, but his effort was blocked by Adam.
