Donnelly at the double Airdrie run riot

Stirling's miserable season continued as they were put to the sword 4-1 by Airdrie United.

The visitors were ahead as early as the 13th minute when Ryan Donnelly continued his remarkable goalscoring form with a simple finish from William McLaren's cross.

The lead was doubled from the spot as Gary Thom fouled William McLaren in the box and Paul Lovering sent Callum Reidford the wrong way.

There was brief joy for Stirling as Lewis Bonar planted Darren Smith's cross into the bottom corner just before half-time.

But normal service was resumed after the break, McLaren restoring United's two goal advantage by drilling home Jamie Bain's cross.

And Donnelly's 19th of the season from the edge of the area in the 58th minute sealed his side's first win in seven league matches and kept Stirling rooted to the bottom of the Irn Bru Second Division.
